The Sunken Garden and Long Walk

The Sunken Garden was planned by Ralph Dutton in 1936. There are formal annual beds with topiary marking the boundaries. In the spring these are planted with Tulips and Forget-me-nots and with Dahlias in the summer. The raised borders include Alliums and a selection of perennials.

The Long Walk from the Sunken Garden has an avenue of Irish Yews with the Rose Garden behind. This was replanted in 2005.
