Description: 

Lavender to pink flowers, similar to Abelia parvifolia in summer through autumn. Foliage more like Abelia x grandiflora - dark green, glossy leaves, immature foliage has some bronze. Semi-evergreen depending on zone. Blooms on new wood so can be pruned as needed - tends to have a splaying habit.

History: 

Hybrid: Abelia x grandiflora x Abelia parvifolia, resulting from a cross at Glenn Dale Plant Introduction Center by Edward Goucher in 1911 for the USDA. Introduced by B.Y.Morrison in 1937.
