My Experience:

I purchased a 1-gallon plant from Nurseries Caroliniana in April 2011 and planted it near the golf course, where the Abelia x grandiflora 'Hopleys' was previously. The plant was nibbled by rabbits and lost a lot of leaves in winter 2012 - then it started to flush out and was hit by a cold spell. I dug it up and potted it up to see if it would come back in the conservatory. In April 2012 I purchased a replacement from Nurseries Caroliniana.
