Description: 

Large yellow, hibiscus-like flowers with a deep maroon eye in summer. Likes well-drained soil. Perennial in warmer zones, reseeds easily.

History: 

Native to China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nepal and the Philippines..

My Experience: 

I was given a rooted cutting by a friend in September 2011 and planted it near the conservatory. It did not survive the winter.
