Family: Acoraceae

Genus: Acorus

Parent: Acorus calamus

Category: Grass

Zones: 4 to 10

Size: To 30" tall and 24" wide

Exposure: Sun, Filtered Sun, Part Shade

Description:

Iris-like, sword-shaped leaves. Blades to 3/4" wide are striped white and green. Naturalizes. Medium to wet soil, including standing water. Dies back in winter. Spreads to a 3 to 4' clump.

My Experience:

I purchased a 1-gallon plant from Gardenhood in August 2013 and planted it in the Ornamental Grasses Border. It did not do so well so in spring 2014 I moved it to the One Of Everything garden.
