Description: 

Crown of about 12 leaves, each arched and about 5' long, leaflets to 2' long and 2" wide. Green fruit ripens to bright red in late December, hence the common name. Does not like consistently wet soil.

History: 

Published in Philipp. J. Sci. 14: 329 in 1919.

Basionym Normanbya merrillii Becc.

Synonym Veitchia merrillii (Becc.) H.E.Moore.

Native to the Philippines.

Saw at GA State Botanical Gardens in conservatory in pots.
