Description:

Dwarf, shrubby form. Moist, well-drained soil. Greenish-yellow flowers in spring. Fruit is spiny, 1/2 to 3/4" capsules.

History:

Native to Georgia. Found in Cobb County and Douglas County.

My Experience:

I purchased a 1-gallon plant from Woodlanders in March 2011 and planted it near the Butterly Magnolia in May after it had finally leafed out. It was a very small plant. At the beginning of June I potted it up again and moved it to the conservatory because the leaves were browning.
