Description: 

Stiff clumps of erect stems. Fast spreading - rhizomes can grow 7' long in 6 months. Used to control erosion on the West Coast and has taken over - considered a noxious weed in California. Warm season grass.

History: 

Native to southern Europe and north Africa.
