Description: 

Clumping perennial with narrow, silvery-green woolly leaves. Small white rounded flowers with green-yellow centers in late summer. Found on dry, gravelly or sandy sites. Attracts butterflies. Will naturalize.

History: 

Published in Gen. Pl. (Bentham & Hooker f.) 2(1): 303 in 1873.

Native to temperate and tropical Asia, the Canada and the US.
