Description: 

The only plants of this species,in the country, are those contained in the Royal garden at Kew; they were raised from seeds brought home by Mr. Menzies. One of these trees planted in the open ground is now 12 feet high, and seems perfectly hardy. (Desc. Pinus)

Published in Mém. Real Acad. Méd. Madrid 1: 199 in 1797. Also published in Desc. Pinus v.2 t.4 p.9 in 1824 and in ed.3 #52 in 1832.

Synonym of Araucaria araucana (Molina) C.Koch.
