Common Name: Wormwood, Mugwort

Published in: Sp. Pl. 2: 845. 1753.

Other: Lectotype: A. vulgaris L. (Ill. Fl. N. U.S. (Britton & Brown), ed. 2 3: 522. 1913). Named for Artemisia, the Greek goddess of chastity. Well-drained dry soil and sun, not wet winters.
