Small white flowers with deep pink inside. Leaves linear to lance shaped, hairy.

History: 

Published in Irid. Gen. 154 in 1827.

Basionym Ixia tubulosa Burm.f.

Synonym Gladiolus longiflorus Andrews.

Native to South Africa.

From Bot. Repos. (Gladiolus longiflorus) This species of Gladiolus, (as are most of the genus) is a native of the Cape of Good Hope, about Table Mountain; where the roots of Ixia, Antholyza, Gladiolus, &c. form a chief part of the food of the inhabiting monkeys.
