Forms a dense mound. Bright yellow flowers in spring. Alternate simple leaves, dark green, bronze in winter. Drought tolerant. Accepts a range of soil types. Thorny.

My Experience:

I ordered one from Forest Farm for delivery in spring 2013. In April 2013 I planted it in the In Between Garden. It seemed to be doing well but then just fizzled out in late summer. It may have been too wet. In April 2014 I decided to try again and purchased a 1-gallon plant from Piccadilly Farms. I planted it in the One Of Everything garden.
