Description: 

Leaves opposte, thick, leathery, grey-green with a pointed tip, to 4" long. Yellow daisy-like flowers in spring and summer. Multistemmed, dense form. Grows at the seashore.

History: 

Native to Florida and the Caribbean.

Published in Prodromus (A. P. de Candolle) 5: 489 in 1836.

Basionym Buphthalmum arborescens L. - Linnaeus cites Chrysanthemum Bermudense Leucoii foliis virentibus crassis (Pluk. Alm. 102) as does Catesby in his Natural History Volume I plate 93.
