Description: 

Flowering shrub to small tree, to 28' tall. Small white fragrant flowers especially in summer but sporadically through the year also. Orange drupes.

History: 

Native to Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Published in Enum. Syst. Pl. 14 in 1760.

Much taxonomic confusion. USDA show Bourreria ovata Miers as a synonym of B. succulenta Jacq. which PlantList shows as a synonym of Bourreria baccata Raf.
