Description: 

Upright, clumping, cool season grower. Not particularly attractive to me once the initial flowering ends. Noninvasive - sturdy, upright - slender brown spikes in summer. Rabbit resistant.

Cultivars: 

'Overdam' - variegated with linear white stripe, purple tint on the stems and inflorescence, otherwise similar to Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster', prefers low humidity

'Avalanche' - variegated with a white band down the center of the leaf, the reverse of 'Overdam'
