Description:

Cool season grass, clumping and upright. Feathery inflorescences when first blooms in late spring with a pinkish tint turn into narrow, beige plumes during the summer. I find the former attractive and the latter not so. Cut back to 5" in winter. Will stop producing foliage in the heat of the summer and resume in the autumn. It is important to keep it watered in the summer heat. Rabbit resistant. Easy to grow and maintain (Oudolf).

History:

Named for the German nurseryman who originally called the cultivar 'Stricta'.
