My Experience:

I purchased a 3-gallon plant from Thomas' Orchards in September 2011 and planted it by the pool fence. It suffered badly from the sun and perhaps the deer so in April 2013 I potted it up to find a new location. In June 2013 I planted it in the One Of Everything garden having decided that the problem was a combination of deer and poor drainage and dry soil.
