Description: 

Foliage is long and thin and cascades over the mound. Usually bronze colored foliage. Needs good drainage and likes moisture. Darke notes that most of the green-leaf varieties sold are actually Carex albula Allan. Likes consistently moist but well-drained soil. Cool season grass.

Cultivars: 

'Bronze' - new growth and winter color is coppery pink.

'Red Rooster' - copper bronze foliage.

History: 

Native to New Zealand.
