Description: 

Two leaves. Blooms in autumn to spring, flowers to 4.5" diameter, fragrant, waxy.

History: 

Published in Coll. Bot. (Lindley) 37 in 1826.

Native to Brazil.

Also published in Bot. Mag. 60: 3265 in 1833 (A native of Brazil, and introduced to the Gardens of the Horticultural Society at Chiswick, by their Collector, Mr. Forbes.) and Bot. Reg. 11: 953 in 1825.

Relatives: 

Hybridizing Characteristics: 

Used for yellow or bronze flowers. Flat flowers, small lip and open shape dominant, also thin pseudobulbs and low number of flowers. Usually flower on all growth produced. (Hereditary Influences of the Cattleya Alliance - AOS.org)
