Description: 

Columnar form but gets looser with age. Green to blue-green foliage with white markings in flat sprays with pointed tips. Tolerate wet soils.

Cultivars: 

'Rubicon' ('Red Star') - to 25' tall, dense compact form, columnar, blue-green needle-like foliage turns purple in winter.

History: 

First published in Prelim. Cat. 71 in 1888.

Basionym is Cupressus thyoides L.
