Description: 

Neat rounded form. Shiny dark green trifoliate leaves, aromatic when crushed. White fragrant flowers in clusters in the leaf axils in spring to summer and in fall. Easy to grow. Deer and rabbit resistant.

Cultivars: 

'Lich', 'Sundance' - yellow young leaves, susceptible to frost damage. RHS Award of Garden Merit 2002, Award of Merit 1995 for foliage.

History: 

Published in Nov. Gen. Sp. (H.B.K.) 6: 6: t. 513 in 1823.

Native to Mexico.

Introduced to England in 1825.
