Leaves alternate, serated, to 4" long, tomentose underneath. Flowers white or pink, fragrant, on racemes to 6" in summer. Flowers on current season's growth. Often late to leaf out in spring. Form upright, dense, suckering. Prefers moist soil and partial shade.
