Description: 

Blooms in spring, occasionally summer, blue flowers, with one tiny white petal. Erect stems with linear leaves, alternate, to 4" long.

Prefers dry, sandy soils.

History: 

Native to eastern and central US, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America.

Published in Sp. Pl. 1: 41 in 1753.
