Description: 

Blooms in May. White flowers after the leaves flush. Strawberry-like fruits in late summer. Leaves to 4" long, opposite, dark green with red to purple autumn color. Vase-shaped in youth but with a more rounded shape and horizontal branching when mature. Well-drained soil.

Cultivars: 

var. chinensis 'Milky Way' - numerous flowers and a more shrubby form.
