My Experience:

I purchased a 1-gallon plant from Mike Francis at Japanese Maples and Conifers (Maple Ridge) in October 2013 and planted it in the Gumball Border Garden. In late winter some animal pulled it right out of the ground so I potted it up for spring and then replanted it.
