Description: 

Blue to purple flowers on racemes, with yellow centers. Similar to a hyacinth but the flowers are much less dense.. Fragrant. Wide linear basal leaves.

History: 

Published in Gen. Pl., ed. 5. 149 in 1754.

Synonym Cyanella capensis L.

Native to the Cape of Good Hope.
