Description: 

Sub-shrub. Sprawling branches. Green bracts.

This is the tallest species yet known, being often 7 and 8 feet high... Stem erect, very much branched. Leaves 1 1/2 to 2 lines broad, 5 to 8 lnog, elliptic, the callosity at their point broad and very obtuse. Upper Bractes longer than the Flowers. Stigma rather thick. (Cult. Prot.)

Native to South Africa.
