Description: 

Small yellow flowers at the tip of the new growth in summer. Spreads by suckers. Dark green leaves, opposite, lanceolate, serrated margins, glabrous. Red veins and stems. Prune in spring.

Native to the southeastern US from Georgia to Virginia and Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
