Grey to light brown bark, fissured. Leaves drooping, to 5" long, leathery, shiny, green, entire, pink petiole. Flowers on spikes to 10" long, red.

History: 

Published in Bull. Jard. Bot. Natl. Belg. 59(3-4): 429 in 1989.

Native to Africa.

Synonym Faurea forficuliflora auct.
