Parent: Gaillardia x grandiflora
Zones: 3 to 9
Size: 12" tall and wide
Growth Rate: Moderate
Red petals with yellow edges. Flowers from spring to autumn, to 4" wide. Deer resistant. Armitage says that winter hardiness is suspect. Not good in clay soils.
- Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Fanfare'
- Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Oranges and Lemons'
- Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Trumpet Red'
I purchased a 4" pot from Santa Rosa in April 2010 and planted it in the perennial garden. It performed well all summer and has come back, though not as stongly as Gaillardia x grandiflora 'Trumpet Red'. By 2014 there were seedlings of all sorts of cultivars but none recognizable as Arizona Sun.
