Gladiolus angustus var. minor Andrews

Family: Iridaceae

Genus: Gladiolus

Parent: Gladiolus angustus

Description:

Cornflag with linear leaves long and ribbed: blossom yellowish ; the three lower petals marked with red. (Bot. Repos.)

History:

Published in Bot. Repos. 9: 589 in 1809-10.

Andrews refers to Gladiolus angustus. Jacquin. Icones, tab. 252, vol. ii. which in turn refers to Linnaeus and Thunberg. But Gladiolus angustus L. is accepted while Gladiolus angustus Thunb. nom. illeg. is a synonym of Gladiolus undulatus L. (Kew). Hence the reference by Andrews is unresolved.
