Description: 

Large green leaves to 10" long and 7" wide with prominent veins. Tubular flowers, white, fragrant, followed by globular fruits. Found on beaches in sun and well-drained sandy soil.

History: 

Published in Sp. Pl. 2: 991 in 1753.

Native to Africa, Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Synonym = Jasminum hirsutum Willd. Listed in Bot. Reg. 1: 15 (1815).
