Description: 

Compact habit. Leaves to 2' long. Upright scapes just above the foliage, not branched. Light orange flowers, 3" diameter, in clusters. Up to 10 flowers per scape.

Native to Japan, China, Korea and Russia.

Published in Reise Sibir. 1(2): 94 in 1856. Referring to herbarium specimens collected by Middendorff in the Amur Region. Plants were then grown at the Royal Botanic Garden in St. Petersburg.

Listed in Dr. Stout's book, Daylilies: The Wild Species and Garden Clones Both Old and New of the Genus, in 1934.
