Clumping form. Basal heart-shaped leaves with white, small, bell-shaped flowers on panicles on stems above the foliage. Blooms in summer. Purple-leafed cultivars tend to be more sun-tolerant. All do better in part shade in hotter zones. In full sun need consistent moisture. Divide every 3 to 4 years.
