Smaller flowers and more pendulous than Hyacinthoides hispanica. Dark blue to violet flowers in spring, fragrant.

History: 

First published in Feddes Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 53:14 in 1944.

Basionym is Hyacinthus non-scriptus L.

Native to the Uk, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Spain.

I purchased 15 bulbs from Brent and Becky's in December 2011 and planted 10 in the 'Berm On the Border' and 5 in the 'One Of Everything' garden under the Seiryu Maple.
