Description: 

White marginal variegation, compact growth habit, pinkish petioles, red flowers in spring and pinkish foliage in winter. Strong aniseed fragrance.

History: 

Discovered in Fayetteville, GA in 2003 as a branch mutation on a container grown Illicium floridanum by Mickey Harp. Introduced by Plant Introductions Inc.

My Experience: 

I purchased a 1-gallon plant from Nurseries Caroliniana in August 2011 and planted it behind the garage. I covered it with a layer of burlap to protect it from the sun until it was acclimated. It has death with the sun well and has started to grow.
