Description: 

Orange or yellow flowers with dark centers in clusters in spring, on wiry stems to 2' tall. Well-drained soil.

It is one of the most desirable of the genus, from the length of time it continues in flower; which is, at least a month, from the first flowers beginning to expand. (Bot. Repos.)

History: 

Published in sp. Pl., ed. 2 2: 1664 in 1763.

Native to South Africa.

Also published in Bot. Repos. 3: 196 in 1801 and Pl. Rar. Hort. Schoenbr. 1: 9: t. 19-23 in 1797.
