History: 

Published in Cult. Prot. 110 in 1809. This species, discovered by Mr. A. Menzies on the West Coast of New Holland, is not unlike some varieties of Ilex Aquifolium, and now in his Majesty's collection at Kew. Leaves 1-1 1.2 inch long, obcuneate, distantly serrated, almost smoot underneath. Bractess 2/3 shorter than flowers. Stigma club-shaped.
