Yellow flowers, spotted with red in late spring to early summer. As many as 20 flowers on a stem, to 3" in diameter. Moist, well-drained soil that does not dry out. Armitage considers it difficult to grow:
one of the most beautiful lilies in existence, and also one of the most frustrating.
Native from Canada to the US, south to Georgia in moist areas on the edge of woodlands or streams.
