Description: 

Grey-green leaves, toothed, ovate, hairy, with prominent veins, strongly fragrant when bruised. Purple flowers in whorls in spring to summer. Well-drained soil, not very heat or humidity tolerant. Attracts butterflies. Deer resistant.

History: 

Native to Iran, Turkey and the Caucasus.
