Description: 

Blooms in spring. 3" single flower (occasionally two). Leaves dark green, mottled.

History: 

Published in Jahrb. Wiss. Bot. 19: 159 in 1888.

Basionym Cypripedium barbatum Lindl. - published in Edwards's Bot. Reg. 27 (Misc.): 53 in 1841. A very fine herbaceous plant, allied to C. venustum, insigne, and purpuratum, gathered at Singapore, on Mount Ophir by Mr. Cuming. It has flowers richly stained with purple, and streaked with green veins upon a white ground. Also published in Edwards's Bot. Reg. 28: 17 in 1842 and Bot. Mag. 72: 4234 in 1846.
