Description: 

White flowers with bright yellow filaments in clusters, maroon at the base. Large leaves, three lobes, fuzzy. Likes very arid areas.

From Bot. Reg. Although the blossom of the present species does not display the splendid colours which distinguish that of the greater portion of the genus, the delicacy of its form, its abundance and long-continued succession, go far to atone this failure.

History: 

Native to South America and introduced before 1733.

Published in Sp. Pl. 2: 958 in 1753.

From Bot. Reg. Native of South America; where it was found by Dr. Houston, growing naturally at La Vera Cruz. Introduced before 1733.
