Description: 

Aquatic plant. Fleshy leaves on long stalks, arrow-head-shaped, bright green. Inflorescence yellow with a green-white spathe in spring, followed by green-black berries.

History: 

Native to eastern Canada and eastern and central US.

Published in Melet. Bot. 19 in 1832.
