Description: 

Warm season grass which does well in hot, humid summers. Flowers through summer and into autumn on tall stems. Look a lot like foxtails. Narrow green leaves, yellow in autumn, arching graceful appearance, 1/2" wide.

Cultivars: 

'Caudatum' - white flowers in summer, 4' tall

'Woodside' - blooms early, 2' tall, from Woodside Garden, Mervyn Feesey, Barnstaple, England.

History: 

Native to Japan and Asia.
