Description: 

Stiff erect plants with a single woody stem up to 2.5" diameter. Dense foliage, small, knob-like. Terminal flowers with pink bracts fading to white.

History: 

Published in Mem. Wern. Nat. Hist. Soc. 5: 554 in 1826.

Native to South Africa.

Basionym is Xeranthemum proliferum L.

Synonym is likely Elichrysum proliferum Willd. Listed in Bot. Reg. 1: 21 (1815).
