Size: 30 to 40' tall but relatively narrow

Description: 

Narrow, conical form. Young shoots are brown and densely hairy. Leaves to 5" long, dark bluish green on upper sides of branches. Cones to 1.5", purple when young.

History: 

Native to northern North America. Introduced to cultivation in 1700.
