Description: 

Conical form with spreading branches and a flattened crown as it matures. Needles 3" long in fascicles of 5, green with a middle white stripe. Oval 4" cones, red-brown. Prefers cool summers and dislikes humidity.

History: 

Published in Fl. Jap. (Siebold) 2: 27: 115 in 1842.
