(Bot. Repos.)

History:

Published in Bot. Repos. 5: 301 in 1803.

Listed by R.Br. in Trans. Linn. Soc. London 10: 81 in 1810 as a possible synonym of Protea lepidocarpon R.Br. and hence Protea lepidocarpodendron (L.) L. However, in Cult. Prot. 40 in 1809, it is shown as synonymous with Erodendrum angustum Salisb. ex Knight, which would make it a synonym of Protea laurifolia Thunb. (ProteaWorldOnline)
