Description: 

Protea with lance-shaped leaves, waved and hairy. Scales of the empalement roundedly oval, with fringed margins of a black brown colour. Stem spreading. (Bot. Repos.)

History: 

Andrews published this as a separate variety in Bot. Repos. 8: 543 in 1808.

In Trans. Linn. Soc. London 10: 82 in 1810 R.Br. shows this plant as a synonym of Protea patens R.Br. which is now considered a synonym of Protea holosericea (Salisb. ex Knight) Rourke.
